MAPLEWOOD, NJ - An unidentified body was found in the brook behind Maplewood Memorial Library early this morning.

The police taped off a wide area around the library, including part of Memorial Park behind and next to the library. Traffic cones blocked access to the library parking lot. The body was removed by officials at approximately 11:30 a.m., and the police tape was then removed making all areas accessible again.

Captain Dawn Williams of the Maplewood Police Department stated there is no comment at this time, and that she would have a release out as soon as possible. (Additional information from the Maplewood Police Department is now available here.)

The Maplewood Memorial Library was closed due to the police activity this morning, and had re-opened as of 12:30 p.m.
