The Investors Foundation, which provides charitable funding to organizations that enrich the communities served by Investors Bank, has awarded a grant of $10,000 to Seton Hall University.  The funding, which builds on a similar grant awarded to the University by the Foundation in 2011, will support Seton Hall’s Nonprofit Sector Resource Institute.

An arm of the Seton Hall’s Center for Public Service, the Institute is an academic management support and research center that works to build the capacity of the nonprofit sector in New Jersey and throughout the nation.  Services offered by the Institute include professional development programs for nonprofit management professionals; management assistance to nonprofit organizations; and the conducting and disseminating of research.

“The flagship programs of the institute are the Board Leadership Institute and the Nonprofit Financial Management Program,” explained Stephanie Hauge, the university’s director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.  “Grant funding enables us to keep the costs associated with these professional development programs affordable for financially constrained nonprofit groups.”

“We are very grateful for the continuing friendship of the Investors Foundation,” said Barkley Calkins, the Institute’s program director.  “The Foundation’s support will enable us to keep our on-campus programs accessible and affordable, while also developing strategies for reaching a wider audience via new delivery options, including online offerings.”

“Since its establishment 16 years ago, the Nonprofit Sector Resource Institute has been giving Seton Hall Students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to support the important work of non-profit organizations,” said Kevin Cummings, president and CEO of Investors Bank and a member of the Foundation’s board of trustees.  “We’re proud to partner with them in the continued pursuit of their mission.”
