SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – Power may not be back on in time to reopen Columbia High School on Tuesday, school officials said.
The school closed Monday due to a power outage caused by equipment failure, according to Judy Levy, the communications coordinator for South Orange and Maplewood school districts.
“We will be keeping in touch with parents to keep them aware of the situation as well,” Levy said. “The district is looking into obtaining alternative energy sources as needed, so that Columbia can be opened as soon as possible.”
PSE&G is currently working on site to rectify the problem.
