Dinner:

For couples looking for the food of love, Above  on South Orange Avenue  will be serving an a la carte menu with sweetheart specials and a rose for your date.

The romantic Papillon 25 on Valley Street is offering a $74 prix fixe dinner on both February 13 and 14. Their Valentine’s Day menu offers several appetizers, entrees and desserts.  Their themed menu includes a “Love Ballad Salad,” strawberry glazed duck and red velvet cupcakes.

Dessert:

If you are looking for a cheaper after dinner treat, travel down to Bunny’s for a “Valentine Sweetheart” dessert.  The owner of Bunny’s, who goes by the name Bunny, said they will be having red velvet cupcakes with strawberries and chocolate.  If you want to share an after dinner drink with you date, try Bunny’s $5 Cosmos on Monday.

On Saturday, Bunny said she is having a “Bring Your Sweetheart and Get Out” night with a performance by the New Jersey “Mophats.”   “They draw a really nice hippie crowd,” Bunny said.

For a more relaxed setting, try Bonte Wafflerie and Cafe, where they are offering a Valentine’s Day dessert that looks irresistible. Owners Elizabeth and Brian Boele said they will feature a “Brownie Waffle Sweetheart Sundae.” The dessert will be a chocolate brownie waffle with chocolate chips, topped with vanilla ice cream and surrounded by a heart of raspberry sauce for $6.95. They will also have Valentine waffle boxes wrapped in red ribbon so you can enjoy your dessert in the comfort of your home. A single packaged waffle is $2.50 and a box of eight waffles is $14.95.

If you are looking to stay indoors for this holiday, try bringing home some of Cold Stone’s Valentine’s Day favorite, chocolate dipped strawberry ice cream.

Shopping:

For those dateless this Valentine’s Day , try taking advantage of the weekend by spending time with friends and family while shopping in the Village.

The Beaded Path, located in the Village Plaza, is offering deals for the whole family. On Saturday they will have 50 percent off everything red, and on Saturday and Sunday they will offer a free gift with every $25 purchase.

Bring your kids on Sunday for a “Bead My Valentine” event where they can play games and win prizes while making their own creations for family or friends.

If you are in the mood for more jewelry, try the pre-made approach at Robyn Ross on South Orange Avenue. From February 8 through February 14, all jewelry is 20 percent off.

Delivery:

If you’re not near the one you love this year, try sending flowers from Victor’s Florist on South Orange Avenue, open all day Saturday through Monday.

The UPS Store on South Orange Avenue has a sympathetic offer to help bring people together. With 20 percent off UPS shipping costs for any item purchased from The Beaded Path or Robyn Ross, you can send your loved ones the gifts they deserve at a reasonable cost. They will also be giving out free Valentine’s Day cards or a Movie Studio wiggle bookmark when you purchase UPS shipping.
