SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – Police arrested a former Seton Hall University student in the assault and shooting incident Tuesday evening involving two male university students, police announced.
Joseph Fowler was arrested and charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
According to Laurie Pine, director of media relations at Seton Hall, Fowler had been enrolled in spring classes but is not currently a student. She could not say whether he had been living in on-campus housing.
Police are still searching for two men in connection with the robbery at Grove Terrace apartments shortly after 8 p.m. on Tuesday. In the confrontation, one student was shot in the arm and another was pistol whipped.
The two victims let the three men into the apartment, police said, and the attack was not a random incident.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact South Orange Detective Sgt. Brian McGuire at 973-378-7772, ext. 7788.
