Worth the Wait: South Plainfield Junior Baseball Club Kicks Off 65th Season in Style

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Certain things can be worth the wait, and the Opening Day Ceremony on April 14th was one of those things. After postponing the season by a week, due to March and April snow storms, the South Plainfield Junior Baseball Club (SPJBC) had a beautifully warm and sunny day opening day.

SPHS Tigers Baseball Defeat Piscataway

PISCATAWAY -- The South Plainfield High School varsity baseball team defeated Piscataway, 5-2, in eight innings Monday afternoon at Columbus Park in Piscataway.

South Plainfield and Piscataway were both held scoreless until the top of the eighth when the Tigers plated five runs. Ashwin deGroot hit a clutch base knock to drive in two runs. South Plainfield scored three more runs on two errors.
