SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – At the Sept. 8 Borough Council meeting, the mayor and council recognized the five South Plainfield students who served as interns over the summer. For 2015, the borough’s summer interns were Nora Borgart, Megan Forster, Danielle Hurst, Diego Vazquez and Amy Zinsky.

“All of our interns worked throughout different areas and this year we had a delightful group,” said South Plainfield’s Administrator/Chief Financial Officer Glenn Cullen. “They were all very fine men and women.”

Bogart, a junior at Bishop George Ahr High School in Edison, worked in the finance department and Forster, a junior at South Plainfield High School, interned at the South Plainfield Senior Center. Hurst, a senior at South Plainfield High School, spent her second consecutive summer interning for the borough. She interned the beginning of the summer in the Clerk’s Office and was hired to fill vacation vacancies at the Building Department in August. Vazquez, a junior at South Plainfield High School, spent much of his time in the Tax Department and also assisted at the Senior Center delivering Meals on Wheels. Additionally, Zinsky fulfilled a college internship by assisting Recycling Coordinator and Environmental Specialist Alice Tempel.
