EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ -   Middlesex County’s 4-H program has seen 75 years’ worth of residents learn, grow and give back to their community. Now, Middlesex County is celebrating those who grew up with 4-H, and offering them a chance to relive their memories with the group.

The Middlesex County 4-H Association will be hosting a 4-H Alumni Reunion on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 2 to 5 p.m. as part of the Middlesex County Fair. The reunion will take place at the 4-H Youth Center at 645 Cranbury Road in East Brunswick.

Participants in the 4-H program from years past are invited to reconnect with their 4-H friends, share their favorite memories of the program and see the first 4-H member graduation ceremony. Attendees are also encouraged to bring old record books, pictures and other 4-H Memorabilia to share.

Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios said: “This event is a great way to commemorate the traditions of the County’s 4-H program, and to ensure the group will offer the same support to its future members. Not only does 4-H teach our youth about the environment, it also fosters social interaction, education and responsibility.”

“So many people have fond memories of their time in 4-H; both of the experiences they shared and the lessons they learned,” said Freeholder Kenneth Armwood, Chair of the County’s Business Development and Education Committee. “I hope that many alumni will attend and keep the program’s spirit of goodwill alive.”

To RSVP for this event, or for more information, please contact the Middlesex County 4-H office at 732-398-5261. You can learn more about the Middlesex County Fair online by visiting www.middlesexcountyfair.org.
