Letter to the Editor:
The South Plainfield Business Association hosted their 7th annual "Taste of South Plainfield" on Monday, April 23, 2018 at the South Plainfield Senior Center. The South Plainfield Food establishments that attended with samples of their foods, which allowed guests to "Taste" their food products and bring business into their establishments were: Antojos Ticos; Carmen's Trattoria & Pizza; Casa Romero Mexican Grill; Ciccio's Pizza; El Refin Mexican Restaurant; Hometown Heros; Imperial Deli; Kenny's Empanadas; LaBonbonniere Bake Shop; Mr. Subs; Papa John's Pizza; Southside Clam Bar; Sherban's Restaurant and Diner, and Wine Country with seven wine and craft beer vendors, who are in a new location next to Ciccio's Restaurant. These food establishments are also supporters of our South Plainfield students' fundraisers.
The South Plainfield Business Association honored South Plainfield Businesses, for the second year, who have served South Plainfield residents for 30 years or more: Vail Hardware - 62 years; Cornerstone Architectural Group, LLC - 31 years; Sherban's Restaurant & Diner - 59 years; Kobo Products Inc. - 31 years; Jo-Ann's Dance Studio - The Performing Arts Centre - 40 years; Dr. Anthony DeCosta DC - 40 years; The Artist's Touch - Tom Seiz - 40 years; KLK Construction Materials & Trucking Co., Inc. - 47 years. Mayor Matthew Anesh signed Proclamations in honor of these businesses and were presented by South Plainfield Council President Robert Bengivenga. Also in attendance were: Councilmen Joe Wolak, Derryck White and Councilwoman Christine Faustini. The Knights of Columbus Squires Robby Gina, Brandon Wizda, Matt Furnari, Jack Scrudato; with Knight Joe Scrudato were essential in the aide of serving the guests for establishments who could not stay but brought their samples.
