SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Petitions for those residents seeking to run for the South Plainfield Board of Education were due July 31 and, at the 4 p.m. deadline, eight candidates had thrown their hat into the race for three open seats.

Incumbents John Farinella, Chere Glover, and Sharon Miller are seeking to retain their seats. Also running this year are Keith Both, Jennifer Curtis, Anthony Gray, Pio Pennisi, and Stephanie Wolak. Elections are at-large and terms are three years.

School board elections, along with gubernatorial,  state and local races, will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017. Information on the candidates will appear in TAPinto South Plainfield over the weeks leading up to the election.
