Sam Pullen has had a tremendous senior season for the Girls’ Spring Track Team. As a captain of the Lady Tigers’, Sam has walked away with a medal from every competition this season. She has won gold at the individual level as well as on her relay teams. Sam is best known for her jumping expertise and it has shown this spring. In early May, Sam teamed up with fellow senior Tiffany Parajon and sophomore Sofia Watson to win the Long Jump at the GMC Relays. Sam, Tiffany and junior McKayla Grabinsky then placed in the girl’s triple jump. At the Blue Division Championships Sam took first place in the long jump and triple jump.
This past week, Sam tied for the longest jump at the GMC Individual Championships with her best distance of the season and won the silver medal. On the track, Sam teamed up with sophomores Melissa Calderon and Hailey Palmer as well as junior Julianne Ferraro to set a school record in the Sprint Medley during the Rocket Relays at Raritan High School. Sam, Melissa, Hailey and Julianne also broke the current school record in the Sprint Medley during the Paul H. Beck Memorial Relays at Millburn High School on April 27th. This season is not quite over and Sam looks to continue her winning ways on the track and in the field at this weekend’s Central Jersey, Group Two State Sectionals.
