SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – These photos of a bald eagle were taken by Matt Kurilew at Spring Lake Park. The bald eagle has been seen at both Spring Lake Park and behind the South Plainfield Senior Center.
According to South Plainfield’s Environmental Specialist Alice Tempel the sightings are not unusual. “I think the eagle sighting is a function of the population of bald eagles is increasing due to improved water quality of Raritan Bay,” said Tempel. “It isn’t that common, but it isn’t a surprise either.”
Although TAP has received a number of comments regarding a bald eagle in the area, this appears to be the first recorded photos of the magnificent bird.
