SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Barclays 2015 FedExCup Playoffs will take place at the Plainfield County Club on Woodland Avenue in Edison from Aug. 24 through Aug. 30. With the weeklong first-round playoff event expected to attract upwards of 24,000 people per day, the need to control traffic in and around the area is necessary. To ensure resident, spectator and motorist safety, several roads will be closed to thru traffic with others temporarily turning into one ways during tournament hours. Parking restrictions will also be in effect.

From 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Woodland Avenue will be a one way, northbound, and Maple Avenue will be closed from Park Avenue to Woodland Avenue. Old Raritan Road in Edison will be closed from Woodland Avenue to Inman Avenue. All roads intersecting Woodland Avenue will be closed and blocked with positive closure barriers at the intersection - with the exception of Oak Tree Road, Dolores Avenue, Maple Avenue and Sprague Avenue.

Residents of the ‘Woodlands’ in Edison will be able to use Dolores Avenue to access their homes. Residents of South Plainfield that live on Woodland Avenue and who can only gain access to their residence from Woodland will be issued passes for their vehicles. Passes are being delivered by the South Plainfield Police Department. Passes are to be displayed to police officers at the traffic post at Oak Tree Road and Woodland Avenue.

Please note that parking will not be allowed on the north and east sides of all streets between Park Avenue and Woodland Avenue from Sprague Ave to Whispering Hills Road. Residents of Woodland Avenue will have to access their homes from Oak Tree Road and travel north; when leaving your residence you must again travel north on Woodland Avenue and onto Dolores, Maple or Sprague avenues.

Detour signs will be posted directing motorists around the area. Traffic from Oak Tree Road in South Plainfield and Edison seeking to travel north on Woodland Avenue will be detoured northbound onto Park Avenue, then east onto Sprague Avenue and back onto Woodland Avenue. Traffic traveling southbound on Woodland Avenue in Plainfield will be detoured west on Sprague Avenue and then south onto Park Avenue.

Inman Avenue in Edison will tentatively remain open to vehicular traffic with westbound traffic on Inman Avenue diverted north on Old Raritan Road into Scotch Plains and the eastbound lanes of Inman Avenue utilized by the shuttle buses for the event. However, should tournament play necessitate it, Inman Avenue will be closed and detours posted. Those looking to access the Care One at the Highlands facility on Inman Avenue will be able to do so by following the detour to eastbound Oak Tree Road while those looking to access the Woodlands Nursing Home on Woodland Avenue will need to follow the detour to northbound Woodland Avenue.

For additional information on the parking restrictions and road closures, contact South Plainfield Police Chief James Parker at (908) 226-7677 or Council President Derryck White at (908) 917- 6134. For additional information and/or details specifically concerning spectator parking, busing and the golf tournament, visit the Barclays Golf Tournament website at www.thebarclays.barclaysgolf.com
