The South Plainfield Middle School PTO President Debbie Boyle, Vice President Nicole Plate, Treasurer Eileen Brady, Public Relations Tree Olano and Facebook Coordinator Jenn Falcone,  hosted the 11th annual Blood Drive with South Plainfield High School Student Council Advisor Anthony Encinas and the Student Council on February 7, 2017, at the South Plainfield High School Auditorium with the New Jersey/New York Blood Center, Ms. Barbara Pearson.

The blood drive is open to all 16 year olds with parental written permission and those 17 years and older with their identifications and personal consent signed forms.  Teachers, staff members, administrators and residents were welcomed as they gave the "Gift of Life".  There were 100 donors who arrived to the donation site and 56 actual units of blood were received and 18 units on the ALYX Machine.  Student Council volunteers included Nick Pezzolla, Sydney Christian, Chelsea Alers and Camila Mosquera.

High School Principal Ronnie Spring welcomed the blood drive to the high school, as in previous years.  Pictured below is South Plainfield High School Social Studies Teacher Chris Cassio donating the "Gift of Life".  The next blood drive will be held on May 23, 2017 hosted by the Middle School PTO and the high school Student Council in the South Plainfield High School auditorium.
