Come join us at the library for Monday Night Movies!  On April 24 at 6:30 PM, we will be showing an Academy Award nominated movie starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monae.  Based on a true story, this movie follows Katherine Johnson (Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Spencer), and Mary Jackson (Monae) through some of their important contributions to NASA in the 1960s.  The three African-American female mathematicians were before their time as they helped put man in space.  If you cannot make it to our Monday night showing, it will also be shown on Wednesday, April 26 at 12:30 PM.  The movie is rated PG-13.

Don’t forget to drop by the library this weekend!  On Saturday, April 22, there will be a second showing for our Teen Movie Afternoon at 2 PM.  This movie, rated PG-13, is the next series set in the Harry Potter universe.  Join Newt Scamander as he ventures around 1920s New York City trying to collect his escaped magical animals.  Of course, there is also a dark wizard afoot; see what troubles he is causing as well.  Popcorn will be served.

Students 11 and older are welcome to join Ms. Jackie and their friends on Tuesday, April 25 from 3:30 to 5:30 PM in the Chill Zone.  Meeting in the Multipurpose Room outside the Children’s Room, students can hang out, do homework, eat snacks, and play board games.  Please check the calendar for dates and times, as this program, schedule permitting, will be meeting on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Mr. Ray is back!  Come Rock out with Mr. Ray on Wednesday, April 26 at 6:30 PM at the South Plainfield Public Library.  You are sure to have a good time, singing and dancing to his energetic songs.  Registration is not required.

The Common Ground Support Group (CGSG) is for parents and caregivers of individuals with special needs.  Monthly meetings are held and speakers are invited to keep members informed about issues that may affect their families.  There will be a CGSG meeting at the library on Thursday, April 27 at 6:30 PM for a special presentation: IEPs- What You Need to Know and Your Family’s Rights.  If you would like more information or would like to be notified of any upcoming programs relating to special needs, please email Jen at CommonGroundSupGroup@gmail.com.

Stop by on Friday, April 28 at 3 PM for Family Game Day!  It will be an afternoon of fun for all ages playing different board games.  You are welcome to bring one of your favorite board games to play as well!
