Come join us at the library for Monday Night Movies!  On July 17 at 6:30 PM, we will be showing a new release starring Charlie Hunnam and Robert Pattinson.  Hunnam plays Col. Percival Fawcett, a real-life explorer who discovered evidence of a previously unknown and advanced civilization in the Amazon in the 1920s.  This movie tells the story of his disappearance in 1925 as he searched for this mysterious city.  If you cannot make it to our Monday night showing, it will also be shown on Wednesday, July 19 at 12:30 PM.  The movie is rated PG-13.

Are your children bored yet this summer?  Well, you are in luck because there are plenty of fun activities at the library for children of all ages!  There are storytimes for 2’s & 3’s Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 AM, storytimes for 3 and older Tuesdays at 10:30 AM and Thursdays at 1:15 PM, and Babytimes for babies up to 2 years old on Fridays at 10:15 AM and 11:15 AM.  There is also a Family Storytime on Saturdays at 11 AM that is designed for children of all ages.  Some of our other weekly programs include a Summer Science League on Mondays at 3 PM for children 10 and older (registration required) and the Kid’s Corner Book Club Monday nights at 6:30 PM for children 8 to 10 years old.  Every Tuesday there is a Puzzles and Games program at 11:30 AM for children 3 and older (right after storytime!) and Chess Club at 12:30 PM for ages 6 and up (Beginner to Advanced chess players are welcome!), and on Thursdays there is a Lego Builder’s Club at 3 PM.  It’s a lot of information, but don’t worry- all the program schedules are available on our website.  You can always give the Children’s Department a call as well at 908 754 7885 ext 4.

In addition to the weekly children’s programs, there are also some special programs happening this week.  On Monday, July 17 at 10:30 AM, there is a Special Needs Sensory Storytime.  This special storytime is intended for preschool to young adult aged individuals with special needs.  Ms. Mija presents the storytime in a way to make participants more comfortable than they would be at one of the regular storytimes.
