Hello everyone! Firstly, renovation continues in our Kids’ Room, however, we still have a limited collection of children’s books available to borrow. If there is something you need that we do not have available, please come see one of our reference librarians, who can request the book from another library, or direct you to a local library that has the book. We thank everyone for their patience during this time.
Our storytimes and crafts for children begin again as of Tuesday March 24th. They will follow a slightly different schedule, and will be held in the Court Room at Borough Hall next door to the library. Storytimes and crafts for ages 3 and up will be Tuesday the 24th at 10:30 and Thursday the 26th at 1:15. Storytimes and crafts for 2 and 3 year olds will be Tuesday the 24th at 1:00. Storytime for babies will be on Friday the 27th, with the first session running from 10:15-11:00 and the second from 11:15-12:15. There will be no programs on Wednesdays or on Thursday mornings.
Tax season is approaching! We will be receiving the federal tax forms in the near future, but we will not be getting any of the booklets. For those, you may contact the IRS by phone or email, and they can send it to you. Alternatively, we have a master copy of the booklets that you can make copies of here (at ten cents per page). We will not be receiving anything from the State. And while we can provide the federal tax forms, we cannot give any kind of tax advice.
On Saturday March 21st, we will be having a Coin Collecting Program led by South Plainfield resident Greg Heim. He will discuss collecting and selling coins, and more.
Our Monday Night Movie on March 23rd will be about a foster child named Annie, who lives with her mean foster mom, sees her life change when business tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in. The movie stars Quvenzhané Wallis and Jamie Foxx and is directed by Will Gluck. The movie will begin at 6:30 PM.
On Thursday March 26th, the Book Discussion group will be meeting at 7 pm. The book being discussed is The Postmistress.
Lastly, have you tried out Freegal yet? You can download up to 5 free songs per week (up from the previous 3 per week) to your desktop, tablet, or smartphone, which are then yours to keep.
