Hi all! It’s hard to believe that it’s June already, but here we are! Hopefully, everyone has been staying safe and healthy. Even though the South Plainfield Public Library is still closed, it doesn’t mean you can’t see us (virtually, of course) for some fun programs. We have a full schedule in June, so hopefully you can join us.
Storytimes for ages 2 to 4 on Zoom are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 10:30 AM. Evening storytime for ages 4 and up on Zoom is Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Babytime for ages under 2 on Zoom is Friday at 10:15 AM. Chinese Bilingual Storytime is presented on Zoom in both Mandarin and English on Monday at 10:30 AM; you do not need to know Mandarin in order to enjoy this storytime. Chinese Language Bookclub for children in first grade and up meets on Zoom on Tuesday at 1:30 PM; you must know some Mandarin for this program. Spanish Storytime with Ms. Jailene can be found on our YouTube channel. If you are interested in joining any of these Zoom programs, please go to our website at southplainfield.lib.nj.us for registration information.

If you would like to register for these Zoom programs, please go to our website at southplainfield.lib.nj.us for registration instructions. It will let you know when you go to register if the class is full.
If you’d like to use any of our online databases, you will need a library barcode number (which is on the back of your library card) and a pin number (which is usually the last four digits of your phone number that you gave us upon creating your card). However, if you find yourself at home without either a library card or a pin number, you can apply for a temporary membership. If you are a South Plainfield resident, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name, address, phone number, and date of birth, and we will send you back a barcode and pin number that you can use to access our online resources. Once you’ve gotten your barcode and pin number, if you’re still unsure how to get started, check out the South Plainfield Public Library YouTube page for tutorials from our staff on how to use some of the online databases.
If you have library items at home, don’t worry about renewing them or accruing any late fees. All items are being automatically renewed, and if anything is missed, just know that we are not charging any fines. If your library card is expiring soon, that will also be automatically renewed.
