SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The South Plainfield community came together on Saturday, May 16 for a fundraising event for 6-year-old Brianna Feeney and her family.
The event was a huge success due to the generosity of the residents and organizations in South Plainfield. Wheels for Bri is to help Brianna Feeney and her family to get a much needed van.
The South Plainfield Community will once again come together on June 20 for “Wheelchair Basketball Games” sponsored by Coaches Care. The event will take place at the South Plainfield High School Gymnasium from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Lions Club will be on hand cooking food all day for the event and music will be provided by former South Plainfield Middle School teacher, John Limyansky. There will also be a tricky tray for the residents to try their luck.
If anyone or organization would like to form their own team, there will be a charge of $150 per team for a half hour game which includes 5 Wheeling for Bri T-Shirts or $300.00 per team for an hour game which includes 12 Wheeling for Bri T-shirts. Some challenges might be Police vs Fire, Council members vs Board of Education members, HS Baseball vs HS Softball or maybe even School vs School.
If you do not want to participate in the basketball games, donations are being accepted, please make your check out to Coaches Care and indicate “Bri” in the memo. Or just come out for the day and support the event.
If you would like to donate a basket for the tricky tray or if there are any questions contact Kevin Hughes, Recreation Director at (908) 226-7714.
Registration forms for the event are at the PAL, located at 1250 Maple Avenue, South Plainfield.
