SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - In the past few months, America has been burdened with harsh reminders of where this country stands in terms of race relations and unfortunately, we have also been given grim glimpses into where it will stand in the near future. During this time of chaos and confusion, we at Impact Church don’t want anyone to be discouraged or to live in fear, but instead we want to be your source of information that will help ease tensions and ultimately improve relationships between community members, law enforcement, and public officials.

With acts of police brutality and racial injustice constantly making news headlines, we have created a safe, peaceful, and productive place where people on all sides can come together and discuss the issues that specifically affect them, and develop solutions to end the negative cycles. Our first Community Race Relations Forum that was held in July of this year and was a huge success, as we walked away with strategic solutions and a peace of mind.

This Friday, November 18th at 7:45 PM, we are hosting the second installment of the Forum with guest speaker, Thomas Russo, Esq. Thomas Russo is a former prosecutor and defense attorney in NJ who specializes in criminal defense, civil trials, motor vehicle offenses, and appeals. In his current practice, Thomas Russo Law, Russo works on countless civil cases and provides his clients with knowledge of the law and how to protect themselves when encountering police and others in authority.

At Friday’s Forum, Attorney Russo is going to discuss some of the most common scenarios we may face with police officers and other public authorities, and teach us the best way to handle these situations while exercising our rights. He will be giving the answers to questions like:

What do I do when I’m pulled over by police in my car? Is it illegal to film the police on my cell phone? What happens if a police officer stops me in the street?

We encourage you to bring your family, friends, coworkers, and other members of your community to this forum. You will have a chance to ask questions and express your concerns about the current happenings in our community, while getting key takeaways that will ensure that you are safe, well informed, and confident when it comes to your rights as a citizen. You can’t afford to miss this opportunity to get informed by an experienced attorney who wants to make certain of your safety.

We look forward to you joining this very important conversation on Friday!
