The South Plainfield Cultural Arts Commission hosted their annual "Line Dancing" event lead by the "Silver Spurs" on October 22, 2016, at the South Plainfield Senior Center.  Line Dancing instructors of the "Silver Spurs" offered instructions for line dancing during each song.

The Silver Spurs has a large following and attracted fifty participants.  The Cultural Arts Commission offers the line dancing event at no cost and the Boyle Memorial Foundation accepts donations for the American Cancer Society for "Dance to Fight Cancer" in the amount of $149.00.

On December 4, 2016, Cultural Arts will be hosting a book at the South Plainfield Public Library featuring writer Richard Veit.
