SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – New York Jets running back Chris Ivory will be part of the festivities this weekend when Dick’s Sporting Goods celebrates the opening of its 531st store nationwide in South Plainfield.
The store officially opened on Wednesday, with Mayor Matt Anesh cutting the opening ribbon and members of the council joining him to welcome the retailer to town.
Throughout the weekend, Dick’s will host a variety of giveaways, including a free Mystery Gift Card from $5 to $500 for the first 100 adults in line today (Saturday), a free Under Armour Tech T-shirt for the first 100 people in line today, and a free Scratch & Win card, where every card is a winner, for the first 100 adults in line tomorrow (Sunday).
New York Jets running back Chris Ivory will appear in the store today from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Ivory was recently acquired by the Jets after spending three seasons with the New Orleans Saints where he began his career.
Professional bass angler Skeet Reese will also appear today from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Dick’s Sporting Goods is the largest full-line sporting goods retailer in the United States. Special extended store hours will be in effect today from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The South Plainfield location is the retailer’s 17th store in New Jersey and its 531st nationwide. The new store will feature over 40 in-store services performed by Dick’s certified professional in Golfing, Biking, Hunting, Fishing, Team Sports and more.
