SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ  – Senator Patrick Diegnan with New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced $881,550 in state funding for the start of a project for improvements and paving work on Hadley Road in South Plainfield.

“As someone who is a lifelong resident of South Plainfield, I know how important Hadley Road is to our residents and local businesses. It is gratifying to know that as a member of the State Senate I am able to obtain essential state funds for needed improvements in my hometown,” said Senator Diegnan (D-Middlesex).  “This wouldn’t have happened without the joint efforts of my Assembly colleagues, Nancy Pinkin and Robert Karabinchak. I want to thank Governor Murphy for acting quickly to promote public safety, create jobs, enhance New Jersey’s economy and improve the quality of life for my constituents.”

The project on Hadley Road is Phase II of an ongoing long-term plan for that area that will be advanced in stages to minimize the disruption to traffic. The precise timing of the work will be announced in the coming weeks by NJDOT subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT's traffic information website www.511nj.org for updated information and for NJDOT news follow them on Twitter @NJDOTinfo.
