EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – The police are asking for help from the public in identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery on February 21 at approximately 2:15 p.m. East Brunswick Police Units responded to the Sunoco Gas Station on Route 18 North, just north of Rues Lane, for an armed robbery.
The gas station employee stated that the suspect had entered the office area of the interior kiosk. Once inside the office area, the suspect brandished a large knife and demanded money. The suspect took an unknown amount of money and packs of Newport Cigarettes. The suspect then left the kiosk and slashed the tires of two customer’s vehicles who happened to be at the gas station. The suspect then entered a flatbed tow truck and fled northbound on Highway 18.
The suspect was described as a White or Hispanic male, late 30’s to early 40’s, approximately 5’7” to 6’ tall, with a medium build. The suspect was wearing a black jacket, dark jeans, construction boots and a black skull cap.
The suspect’s vehicle was described as a flatbed tow truck that had a dark or black cab with a “flat” front. The flatbed tow truck did not have any vehicles on it and no identifying information was observed by the witnesses.
