TRENTON, NJ - Local assemblywoman and former East Brunswick Township Council Member Nancy J. Pinkin was named today as head of the Environmental and Solid Waste Committee by newly-installed Speaker Craig Coughlin.  Pinkin will serve under the new administration led by incoming Governor Philip J. Murphy, the Democrat elected this past November.

Recently, Pinkin's bill requiring restaurants and food service locations to post information about the proper handling of known allergens was signed into law by Governor Chris Christie.  

Assemblywoman Pinkin represents the 18th Legislative District which includes East Brunswick, Edison, Helmetta, Highland Park, Metuchen, South Plainfield and South River.  She was first elected to the Assembly in 2013 after serving on the East Brunswick Town Council since 2005.  The Assemblywoman was re-elected in 2015 and this past November.

Pinkin holds a Masters in Public Administration degree from New York University.

She will also serve as a member of the Assembly's Law and Justice Committee.
