SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The South Plainfield Public Library recently hosted a week-long EcoCamp workshop which culminated in a showcase for participants on Saturday June 30, 2018. Local Girl Scout Puja Vengadasalam developed and presented EcoCamp as a way to help inspire children to become environmentally aware.

Approximately 20 children invited families and friends to come see what they had learned at the event. Each child created a poster board display that they worked on throughout the week. Attendees also participated in a live demonstration of a Tesla Model X electric car, were given a tour of the EcoCamp website, and listened to local environmental expert Dr. Alice Tempel speak on the importance of caring for the environment.

South Plainfield Mayor Matthew Anesh was on hand to congratulate the youngsters on their achievements and hand out certificates of completion. The EcoCamp website can be found at https://pujavstar.wixsite.com/ecocamp
