  • Zombie lovers can head to Smithville on Halloween for their undead stroll from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.
  • Take part in the Super Hero Halloween Walk for Autism on Halloween. It begins at 9 a.m. at the Saint James Hall parking lot at Holy Trinity parish in Ventnor. The proceeds benefit FACES 4 Autism. In additon to the walk, there will be other Halloween fun including prizes.
  • Head to Toms River for their 77th annual Halloween Parade. It is the second largest according to the Guinness Book of World Records. The parade begins at the Toms River Shopping Center at Route 37 and Main Street. It kicks off at 7 p.m., but arrive early!
  • If there's energy left on November 1, go to the Great Pumpkin Sail on Echo Lake in Mountainside from 5:15 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Pumpkin carvers set their jack-o-lanterns afloat. Each family can bring one. Admission is $12-$16 depending on the size of your family or group.

For some adult only fun, there's a lot going on around the Garden State.

  • Clydz in New Brunswick is having a costume party on Sunday from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m. No cover charge.
  • For a rock and roll Halloween, rock over to the Court Tavern in New Brunswick on Saturday. The fun begins at 8 p.m. There is a $10 cover charge.
  • The Triumph Brewing Company in Princeton is celebrating a "Hoppy Halloween" with pumpkin ale, food, costume contest and music. The party starts at 9 p.m. with free entry.
  • The Downtown in Red Bank has a costume party with a Grimm fairy tale theme though all are welcome. Enjoy music and drinks. Downstairs bar is free to enter, but there is a $10 cover upstairs. The bands perform upstairs.
  • Those with excellent costumes might want to head to Porta in Asbury Park. There is a $1,000 prize for the top outfit. The top couple gets Apple watches. Fun starts at 9 p.m. with the costume contest beginning at 11:30. Admission is free before 11.
  • Zombies should head to the Brass Rail in Hoboken. Prizes for best costume. There is no cover charge before 11 p.m.

When all the Halloween fun is said and done, don't forget the clocks go back this weekend. Appreciate that extra hour of sleep after all the Halloween hullabaloo.
