SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The planning board on Tuesday night approved a plan by the owners of Hall’s Warehouse to build a new 108,000-square-foot warehouse on Kentile Road.

Mayor Matt Anesh, who sits on the board, called the plan a “big win” for the town.

“If you’re looking for the type of civic-minded business that you would want to expand in your town, it would be Hall’s,” the mayor said.  “I’m thrilled to see them expanding in South Plainfield.”

The board unanimously granted the application.  According to Hall’s representatives, the new warehouse space will handle expanded operations for Restaurant Depot.

Councilman Alex Barletta, who chairs the council’s economic development committee, said his committee has been working with Hall’s and Restaurant Depot for several months to make sure they stay in South Plainfield.

“We didn’t want to lose either business to another town,” said Barletta.  “Along with the mayor, we tried to work with them to make the application process as easy as possible.”
