The South Plainfield High School "Heros and Cool Kids" with their mentor, Harry Flaherty, former Football Star at Princeton University and Red Bank Catholic, who was in the NFL training camps with New Orleans Saints, Tampa Ray Buccaneers, and Dallas Cowboys, and now in charge of the "Fellowship of Christian Athletes", joined high school advisors Marla Vandermark and Jessica Kriskowski, working with the students on anti-bullying, harassment and intimidation programs for the Grant School sixth grade classes.

The "Heros and Cool Kids" visited the Grant sixth grade classes in December to discuss the students' issues with regards to bullying by their peers along with others.  The students submitted experiences they have had with regards to bullying.  In January, 2017 the "Heros and Cool Kids' with Harry Flaherty, mentor and the advisors, returned to the sixth grade classes to discuss with the students various ways to handle bullying issues they experienced along with reporting these issues to the school administration.  Grant School Principal Ellen Decker-Lorys, Assistant Principal Robert Richkus and High School Principal Ronnie Spring support the work that the "Heros and Cool Kids" bring to the Grant School students.
