South Plainfield High School Principal Dr. James Pedersen and the Student Leadership Team consisting of teachers, parents, residents and students meet monthly to discuss curriculum, grading, programs, AP courses, SAT testing and buildings and grounds. Dr. Pedersen is open to input from all involved. This program is extremely helpful to parents, teachers and students and allows room to grow both academically and offering insight into future plans for the District. High school seniors have lunch privileges that allow them to leave the school during their lunch period. Many of the students eat lunch in their cars. Dr. Pedersen felt that rather than the students eating lunch in their cars they would enjoy having lunch outside at picnic tables.
