SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – South Plainfield sisters Meghan and Caity Hughes each recorded a goal and an assist to lead the South Plainfield Tigers varsity field hockey team to a 2-1 comeback victory over the Old Bridge Knights yesterday in South Plainfield.

Despite a 2-8 record entering the contest, Old Bridge gave the Tigers everything they could handle taking a 1-0 lead at half with a first half goal by Marian Nguyen.

The Tigers were not about to let the Knights spoil Senior Day and came out and dominated the second half of play.  The Tigers pinned Old Bridge in their own zone for most of the second half. The victory improved South Plainfield’s record to 12-1 on the season. South Plainfield senior goalie Rebecca George recorded one save in the victory while Old Bridges’ goalie Allison Parrett turned away eight shots.

The Tigers play away in Cranford this Saturday, Oct. 10, 2014 at 3 p.m.
