SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Memorial Day is so much more than a long weekend. It is a chance for us to remember those who gave all for this great nation and the freedoms it offers.

This Memorial Day, we pay tribute to the lives and legacies of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in serving our country, and we honor their courage.

The South Plainfield Memorial Day Services, hosted by the American Legion Post #243  and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #6763  will be held on Monday, May 28.  It will commence at the American Legion Post 243 at 9:00 a.m.  The procession will start with the tradition of wreath laying  at 10 a.m. in Monument Park.( Attendees may park in Veterans Memorial Park) after which it will continue to the three cemeteries, starting at the Brith Abraham Bnai Zion on New Market Avenue, then walking over to Hillside Cemetery of Samptown and then to Holy Redeemer Cemetery on Clinton Avenue. The procession will end at Veteran's Park behind the Senior Center at the stone and plaque at the entrance of the park.

After the services, all are invited to the American Legion for refreshments  provided by this year’s host, American Legion Post #243.
