PISCATAWAY, NJ - The opening of the first JFK Urgent Care Center signifies their expansion into the urgent care space and convenience medicine, as well an extended reach of the JFK brand promise.
The center, located at 1080 Stelton Road in Piscataway, will be open at convenient times, 7 days a week and no appointment is necessary. The highly trained physicians and staff treat non-life threatening injuries (lacerations, abrasions, mild fractures) and illnesses (earaches, sore throats, colds, flu and coughs) all in a patient friendly environment. The Center will also offer EKG, lab tests and x-rays.
The JFK Urgent Care Center is designed to eliminate many of the reasons patients seek care in a more expensive and time-consuming emergency room by offering a less expensive and rapid alternative for quality care.
“If your health issue is not an emergency, seeing a doctor at the Urgent Care Center will not only get you faster treatment for what ails you, but it will be less expensive as well,” Marcel Stern, M.D explained. “Our board certified physicians can treat a range of Illnesses, including colds, flu, coughs and other viral illnesses, as well as preventative treatment and management of chronic health conditions. Urgent Care clinicians are able to refer patients who need specialty care, advanced diagnostic testing or surgery to their primary care physician, thereby providing a comprehensive continuum of care.
Although JFK’s Urgent Care Center can treat many ailments, Dr. Stern emphasized that if patients are experiencing chest pain, sudden weakness or other signs of stroke, they should always first seek treatment at the nearest emergency room.
The JFK Urgent Care Center is open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 2p.m. For more information, call 848.230.6800.
