SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Knights of Columbus, Council 6203, presented prizes to the Essay Contest winners at their Nov. 17th meeting.  The Knights of Columbus sponsor the Essay Contest annually and it is open to all students who are catholic in grades 8-12.  This year's topic was, "The Importance of Religious Freedom".

Twelfth grade student, Robert Gwiazda, and tenth grade student, Jack Scrudato, won first place in their respective grade groups.  There were no entries for the other grade groups.  Robert and Jack were each presented with a $75.00 check from the Knights of Columbus by Grand Knight, Tom Pollock, and Tom Walsh, Family Director.
