EDISON, NJ – They survived! The South Plainfield Lady Tigers entered this week on a six game winning streak, but knew they would play Middlesex County titans Bishop Ahr and Sayreville and face a top flight Edison squad. Bishop Ahr and Sayreville beat the Tigers, but today South Plainfield bounced back and rallied to knockoff the Edison Eagles 36-33.

South Plainfield trailed Edison 18-14 entering the second half, but a stifling Tiger defense held the Eagles to just four 3rd quarter points as the comeback began. South Plainfield’s Mackenzie O’Brien led all scorers with 20 points. O’Brien and teammate Caity Hughes scored 21 of the Tigers 22 second half points as the Tigers edged the Eagles. O’Brien’s short jumper with 6:13 left in the game put the Tigers in the lead for good 31-30.
