As a mother and resident with four children, two of which are attending college, I understand the difficulties South Plainfield families face to live within a budget and do more with less every day. As expenses are increasing all around us, one has to fight to continue to find savings to make ends meet. Sometimes this means waiting to make purchases and being sure you make quality decisions to get the most value out of everything you buy. I am proud to be part of a local government that lives by the same financial principles that our hardworking residents do.
Thank you to the Administration and Finance committee, Chairman Robert Bengivenga, Council President White, Councilman Wolak and CFO Glenn Cullen who continue to keep our hometown affordable. Thanks to our hard work and fiscal responsibility, we have kept taxes flat once again and our residents pay less for the municipal portion of property taxes than they did in 2009.
Most importantly, while holding the line on taxes, this year’s budget continues to improve the quality of life of every South Plainfield resident.
I am happy and proud to be a part of the team that continues to get it done for South Plainfield!
