Dear Editor,

Last week, Governor Murphy said New Jersey may not be the state for families and businesses whose only consideration is tax rates.

In a report by KYM Newsradio, Governor Murphy was quoted: “If you’re a one issue voter and tax rate is your issue. If that’s your only basis upon which you’re going to make a decision, we’re probably not your state.”

Basically, what Governor Murphy and the Democrats in Trenton are saying is that if you don’t like high taxes…then get out.

This is coming from the same Governor who cut state aid to South Plainfield Schools by more than $180,000 this year, supports a plan to put tolls on Rt. 287 and Rt. 80, and continues to raise fees on almost everything we buy.

Governor Murphy should be listening to everyone who is telling him that they simply  can’t pay any more. He also needs to listen to the analysts and independent agencies that are telling him that New Jersey is headed for financial disaster.

This is the reason I chose to run for State Assembly this year. While South Plainfield continues to have one of the lowest tax rates in the state, we need to make sure Trenton doesn’t get out of control and tax us out of our hometown.

Being a 4th generation South Plainfield resident and now raising my family here, I will fight to make sure that we get our fair share from Trenton and fight to reduce spending and taxes.

We need to make sure that for generations to come, families can stay together and continue to call New Jersey home.

I hope to earn your support on Election Day.
