On Sunday April 23, 2017, South Plainfield High School's Boys and Girls Tennis Team and DECA chapter hosted the 2nd annual Tint Sprint & Wellness Fair here at South Plainfield HS! Beginning at Grant, the event was designed to be a day full of fun, friends, family, and fitness for the whole community. The event started with runners participating in the Kids’ Fun Run (ages 5-11) and next the Adult Run, where they trudged through several miles of designated “color zones” complete with grand finale of dye explosion! Afterwards, guests and spectators gravitated to the high school’s parking lot side to shop amongst our vendors, where products were sold and given away, ranging from post its to jewelry, and snacks. Our very own home town vendor, Kenny’s Empanadas, (located at 1020 Belmont Ave South Plainfield, NJ 07080) joined in the festivities with their own food truck. Aside from educating attendees about healthy ways to improve their everyday lives, the day also included a silent auction, volleyball tournament, and entertainment provided by radio station 98.3 radio.
We would like to thank all participants, spectators, vendors, businesses, and everyone who helped make this event possible. The Kid’s Fun Run and 5K start/finish line was donated with colorful balloons by L & D decorations. Photography was provided by our hometown mother and son duo, Kristina Bernarducci and Zenen Rivera. We truly appreciate all the time you volunteered to help make this event a success. Thank you to Debbie Boyle and Mayor’s Wellness Committee for helping to support this event. Thank you once again to our South Plainfield Education Association.
Overall, the day was a complete success. If you happened to miss out this year, don’t worry, the 3rd annual Tint Sprint and Wellness Fair will take place again next year.
