On this past Friday, Kennedy School completed our first Calendar Raffle event. Between March and May, 30 baskets were raffled off with a total retail value of over $10,000! Many of these wonderful prize baskets were donated by Kennedy families, businesses and our teachers and staff. Several others were purchased through funds raised from generous sponsorship grants from such local businesses as Creative Kids Academy, McCriskin-Gustafson Funeral Home, Barclay, Unity Bank, TAPinto South Plainfield, KC's Corner plus so many others.
It was challenging completing this event given the current circumstances, but we made it work. We received such an outpouring of support from the local community, without whom this would not have been as successful as it was! To all those purchasing tickets, we thank you.
We are using this fundraiser to continue our support of the students at Kennedy School through various programs and are looking to upgrade the schools all-purpose room sound system. We do hope to make this an annual Kennedy event. Look for more details during next school year!
Special thanks go out to our PTSO secretary, Leyna Lillia, for helping facilitate so many letters and emails soliciting donations. Thanks also to the Kennedy Staff for helping to pass out these tickets as well as to our resident "Max Headroom", Kevin Hajduk, for providing a principals eye witness on all the raffle drawings through a live video. And to our PTSO President Tamara Winsmann we send out our sincere appreciation and gratitude for organizing this event. You and your family had to take on so much more of this event in the past several weeks than any of us thought would happen when this event was first planned. For that, we are greatly appreciative. You have your dining room back!
