To the Editor:

I would like to thank everyone on the Christmas in July Committee for putting this year’s event together. The committee was comprised of the South Plainfield Business Association, Tri-County Chamber of Commerce, South Plainfield Education Foundation and a special thank you to Cultural Arts Commission for running and sponsoring the window painting contest.

I would also like to thank Darlene Cullen, Pastor Jesse Nietzer, Marjorie Reedy, Nancy Grennier, Al Boettger, Patti Feeney, Debbie Boyle and Shannon Jefferys–we couldn’t have done this without all of you!

Thanks to all the vendors and everyone who came out to attend Christmas in July.

A special thank you to Bagel Pantry for hosting the breakfast and the South Plainfield High School Band for leading Santa (Al Boettger) from the Bagel Pantry to the Christmas in July site and for performing at the event. Also, thank you to the Summer Drama Workshop performers and all those who entertained the crowds throughout day.

And, of course, we cannot forget all the support we received from the rescue squad, fire department, police department, DPW workers and the Music Boosters moms and dads.  Our profound thanks for all you have done to help us make this event a success.

Last, and certainly not least, thanks to Mayor Matt Anesh and members of the Borough Council, CFO Glenn Cullen,Det. Lloyd McNelly and Council Candidate Joe Wolak for being such great sports by letting us dunk you!

Until next year,

Jill Ryan, Coordinator
