Dear Editor,

At the Council meeting on June 22 the Mayor appointed a new OEM team for the borough. Before I go any further I would like to thank the previous team for their years of service to the residents of South Plainfield.

As far as the Mayors decision I am in total agreement with the change. The new team of our Chief of Police Jim Parker,Captains Matt Koep and Chuck Siedenberg and Lieutenant Wendell Born are a great choice for a variety of reasons. Their expertise in handling emergency situations and the resources available to them will ensure the safety of the residents, along with the safety of the students when school re-opens.

I would like to congratulate these officers in their newly appointed positions. And be assured you can reach out to me along with other council members for complete support.

Councilman Ray Rusnak
