Dear Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Det. Sergeant Gary Cassio and Chief James Parker of the South Plainfield Police Department (SPPD) and Library Director Linda Hansen for organizing this year's National Night Out (NNO).

This was a fantastic opportunity for families to come out and enjoy a free evening of food, fun, and entertainment. The night featured a children's musician,a strolling magician, some awesome balloon art, a bounce house/obstacle course, classic cars, and rescue vehicles as well as a number of officers from the SPPD who volunteered their time to meet and interact with members of the community.

With close to 30 tables featuring local organizations and businesses, crafts, activities, and giveaways there was truly something for everyone. It was great to see so many residents gathering together to enjoy an evening out in honor of the SPPD. I believe that this may have been the borough's best NNO yet.

On another note, I would like to thank Councilwoman Christine Faustini, Borough Administrator/CFO Glenn Cullen, and Department of Public Works Superintendent Len Miller for working together to install the shade structures behind the library at Willow Park. These structures, along with the playground equipment, provide a safe and fun place for the children and their parents to enjoy.

Thank You once again to everyone-each of you is truly an asset to the community.
