Letter to the Editor- SP Education Foundation

Dear Business members:

Again this year, the South Plainfield Alliance for Substance Awareness (SPASA) and the South Plainfield Education Foundation (S.P.E.F.) will be sponsoring the 5K Labor Day Run and Family Fitness Walk on September 7, 2015. This will be our 25th year! As you may be aware, SPASA is involved in providing educational based substance awareness programs for the South Plainfield community. The S.P.E.F. provides scholarships, educational programs and academic incentives to the students of South Plainfield. Both programs are dedicated to reducing the incidence of substance abuse in our community by targeting the youth population.

To become a Major Corporate Sponsor a minimal donation of $300.00 is all that is required. Your company’s name (logo) will appear on each runner’s T-shirt (over 150) much larger than our community sponsors. Your company will also receive additional billing in our awards section on all applications; which will be posted on the town website, the SPEF website and the Best Race website. Your company’s name will appear with all news releases involving the advertising of the race. This includes pre-race and post race coverage. If you would like to become a community sponsor the minimum donation is $50.00.

The S.P.E.F. is a non-profit organization and SPASA is an indirect function of the Borough of South Plainfield and of Middlesex County, so your donation is tax deductible. Our tax-exempt number is 223326699 - this will be handy for tax purposes and to research our organization. We will provide a receipt for your donation upon your request.

It would be greatly appreciated if your business would be one of our sponsors of this race. To re-emphasize, we use all proceeds to help develop substance awareness programs, scholarships and academic incentives for the youth in South Plainfield. We had 250+ runners and 30 walkers participate in last year’s event. Please feel free to contact me, Marjorie Reedy at 908-561-5800 ext 302 or email: mreedy@uermetals.com, if you have any questions. Feel free to visit our website which can be found by clicking the Education Foundation link at the school district website: http://www.spboe.org.  Or you can visit the Education Foundation website at www.vision2001.org.
