Local resident Among Filmmakers to Screen Video Short at the South Plainfield Public Library

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - On Saturday April 29 from 1:30pm-3pm, join South Plainfield resident Jes Vasquez for a screening of her video short, “Put a Pin in It”.  "Put a Pin in It" - Wallaby Wilson, host of Urban Excursions, explores the avid bobby pin user! Tom doesn't understand his girlfriend's love of the small hair accessory; isn't he enough for her?!  Three other filmmakers will also be on hand to screen their video shorts. “Jenny:  A Beach movie” by Indyago Productions.  A young man takes his girlfriend Jenny to the beach. What was intended to be a day of fun in the sun suddenly takes a drastic and dangerous turn when Jenny decides to go for a swim.  "Henchmen for Hire," by Andrew Froening, Two talkative henchmen are hired to stand guard over a clandestine meeting; when the job runs later than expected, they are forced to find ways to entertain themselves. "Healing Heroes" by Chris Orangeo centers around our main character, Dr. Henry Connors, a therapist that specializes in treating Super Heroes and Villains.  A Q & A session with the filmmakers will follow the screenings.

 

Jes Vasquez grew up in South Plainfield, New Jersey, earned her Bachelor's Degree in Writing from Ramapo College of New Jersey, and moved to Philadelphia 3 years ago where her filmmaking career is underway! In 2016, she directed 3 of her original shorts with a cast and crew of talented and dedicated filmmakers. That same year, she worked on three 48-hour film projects with Unimoose Production, Already this year, she has been Assistant Director on "The Undoing" by Mind Palace Pictures and Shoestring Gold Films' feature film Dead Giveaway. Additionally, she is currently interning with Spirit Animal Collective in East Falls where she gets to play with a Canon C100 and Adobe Creative Cloud to create behind-the-scenes videos of the production team! Encouraged by how well received her work has been, Jes is continuing to tell her stories while assisting other filmmakers express their passion for storytelling. Indyago Productions is a production company that specializes in visual storytelling. They produce original content for every client from concept to distribution. The team includes recent graduates from William Paterson University with a bachelor degree in Communications, concentrations in media production and media studies.  Chris Orangeo is a 29 year old Filmmaker from Central New Jersey who loves Writing and Video Editing! Orangeo is the Writer/Director of the proof of concept film "Healing Heroes,” stemmed from a conversation with an old friend of his. They were discussing how funny it would be to make a short film of Batman and Cat Woman going to couples therapy without D.C. Comics filing a lawsuit!  Andrew Froening is a Filmmaker from Central New Jersey and owner of FroVideo.  His day job of relaying stories of environmental and globe-trotting adventure projects at Aqua Survey, Inc. and his freelance work under FroVideo keeps him out of trouble.  Andrew is always ready to create something exciting, new, and meaningful. This program is presented free and no registration is required.
