South Plainfield - Margaret R. Mondoro passed away on September 13, 2013 surrounded by her family at her home in South Plainfield, New Jersey. She was 85 years old.
A viewing will be held at McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals. 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080 (www.mcccriskinfuneralhome.com) on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 2PM - 6PM.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 9:15AM in the funeral home followed by a 10AM funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield.
Margaret was born in Bound Brook on December 20, 1927 to Frank and Angelina (DeLisi) Marotto. She graduated Bound Brook High School and Rider University and then worked alongside her husband in their business for many years.
Margaret is survived by Anthony Mondoro, her beloved husband of almost 66 years, along with their daughters Patricia Carberry and her husband Drew, of Baltimore, MD, and Barbara Sullivan and her husband Bob, of Sewell, NJ; their sons Anthony Mondoro Jr., and his wife Debra, of Holmdel, NJ, and Frank Mondoro and his wife Diane, of Hillsborough, NJ. She is also survived by her sister, Concetta (Connie) Rohn and her husband Charles, of Bridgewater, NJ and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret will also be missed by her fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Margaret was a dedicated mother and longtime Communicant at Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and she was tremendously creative in her crafts which included traditional hand-hooked rugs, quilting, fabric crafts, knitting and needlepoint.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Margaret’s memory be sent to the Mount St. Mary House of Prayer, 1651 US Highway 22, Watchung, NJ 07069.
