EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ -- The Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County invites you to Celebrate National Herb Day with the Rutgers Master Gardeners at their “Ask a Master Gardener” event and plant sale.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the 4-H Youth Center located at 645 Cranbury Road in East Brunswick. Attendees should use the Fern Road entrance.
This event is an opportunity for gardeners to get information about how to grow and maintain a successful garden, as well as purchase starter plants. Middlesex County’s Extension Agriculture staff and Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer any questions you may have or garden problems you need assistance with. Literature and University fact sheets will be available to take home. The selection of plants available for purchase will include herbs, flowers and many vegetables.
Directions to the 4-H Center are available online at www.co.middlesex.nj.us/extensionservices/4hclubs_directions.asp. This event will be held, rain or shine.
“I encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to consult with some of the County’s most knowledgeable gardeners,” said Freeholder Kenneth Armwood, Chair of the County’s Business Development and Education Committee.
“This celebration is the perfect opportunity to start a garden, eat healthy and learn about the beauty and benefits of plants and herbs,” said Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios.
