SOUTH PLAINFIELD – South Plainfield Borough Hall was more crowded than usual at this month's council meeting. Blue, brown and yellow/gold were on complete display. No, there were no police hires, and South Plainfield isn’t changing its colors. It was the Mayor’s annual Boy Scouts Week Proclamation.

Cub Scout Packs 207, 224 and 324 were joined by Boy Scout Troops 124, 125, 207 and 309 as Mayor Anesh proclaimed February 5th – 11th to be Boys Scouts Week. The Pledge of Allegiance was given with extra vigor as South Plainfield’s youngest and finest were on hand to accept the Mayor’s proclamation.

“The Boy Scouts of America has been an integral part of the South Plainfield community as well as a positive influence on our youth for many years and has helped our boys to become responsible citizens and leaders,” said Anesh. “Throughout its long and distinguished history, Boy Scouting has inspired more than 50 million boys and young men to strive for the highest ideals of courage, confidence and character.”
