SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The South Plainfield High School wrestling team stormed the Borough Council chambers Monday evening as South Plainfield Mayor Anesh proclaimed Monday May 1st to be Wrestling Day in the Borough of South Plainfield.

The wrestling team came dressed in khaki’s with most wearing ties. The fine young gentlemen looked the part, as members of the State Championship team took their position on the dais and in front of the mics.

These guys are competing year in and year out, it Is a great program and an even greater group of fine young men,” said Anesh

“Let’s give them another standing ovation,” said Recreation Liaison Christine Faustini.

After the standing ovation the wrestling team posed for a celebratory photo, and one of the wrestlers settled into a comfortable position in Mayor’ Anesh’s seat.

“I just want to say it was a great season,” said South Plainfield wrestler Joe Nardacci. “We were able to go undefeated in New Jersey.”
