SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ -South Plainfield candidates for mayor and borough council will debate on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at the South Plainfield Senior Center, 90 Maple Ave.

The debate is co-sponsored by the South Plainfield Business Association and the South Plainfield Observer.

Candidates running for a four-year term as mayor are Republican incumbent Matt Anesh and first-time candidate Democrat Sandy Doyon.

Candidates vying for two, three-year seats on the council are Republican incumbents Rob Bengivenga and Joe Wolak and Democratic newcomers Kristine Keefe and Sherri Zwerko.

The moderator will be Suzanne Lepore.

Audience members are encouraged to submit their questions for the candidates that night. Candidates will not see the questions in advance. Questions will be collected and given to the moderator. Questions can be directed to all candidates or an individual candidate.

The entire community is encouraged to attend this event. This is your opportunity to meet the candidates for mayor and council and ask your questions.
