EDISON, NJ-- Menlo Park Mall will be participating in a national engagement with Susan G. Komen® to support the fight against breast cancer, engaging employees, retailers and shoppers in ‘Mission Pink®’ events throughout the month of October.
“As an active member in this community, Menlo Park Mall provides an ideal backdrop for raising awareness and encouraging support in finding a cure for breast cancer, a disease we know affects many of our employees, retailers and shoppers every year,” said Suzy Lichter, area director of mall marketing for Menlo Park Mall.
“We are delighted to be working with the dedicated people at Simon,” said Dr. Judy Salerno, Komen President and CEO. “With one case of breast cancer diagnosed every two minutes in the U.S., programs like Simon’s ‘Mission Pink’ play a key role in bringing our mission to people in communities across the country. The support of Simon and their customers will help us fund research, provide support to women, men and families suffering from breast cancer, and move toward a world with no breast cancer.”
Visitors to Menlo Park Mall will notice that the Guest Services booth will be outfitted in pink and staff will be honoring National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donning pink accessories.
On Saturday, October 10, Menlo Park Mall will host its Mission Pink program from 12-3 P.M. in the Nordstrom Wing. The event, being held in conjunction with JFK Hospital and St. Peters Breast Clinic, will include mall retailers, restaurants and vendors.
Donations to Susan G. Komen (SGK) can be made via the Wall of Strength or through a pink fun activity hosted by Canvas and Grape where for a $10 donation participants can paint a cherry blossom wine glass with a portion of the proceeds to benefit SGK.
The Wall of Strength will be on display throughout the month of October. Shoppers can also show their support by writing a Message of Strength and posting it on the wall.
Shoppers can also receive complimentary pink flowers and pink lemonade at Simon Guest Services throughout October, while supplies last.
Simon is proud to support Susan G. Komen through various fundraising initiatives during the month of October, and along with the help of generous customers, has guaranteed a contribution of at least $250,000.
